Only rely on God.
Not your government, job, knowledge, or favorite relationship.
Only God.
If the idea of one of the four (or all) failing or disappearing panics you, you have entered idolatry.
Only God.
When I say that you should sell all you have, seek Him, obey his command, and not care what anyone thinks, I mean it.
In a time of absolute upheaval in our country, we sold everything and I left my job. We had zero income for 9 months. No savings. Nothing. Yet had more money in the bank after 9 months than when we started.
Carlia got a job and brought in 1/2 of what we made before. We still live on less than 35k a year. But we wiped out all debts. All mortgage payments. Bought 50 acres of land. Started a farm. And have over 70 animals thriving on it. We haven’t paid for meat in over a year (and are well fed). My wife sings and dances for a living, and leads Church services at her work for other employees. We host church gatherings on our farm for our neighbors and friends twice a month. Our children have found their passions, dreams, and best friends—Sydney trick-rides on horses; Annabelle gets leads in plays; Harvey built a 8’x8’ house in the woods by himself with just a dream and vision in his heart.
People are panicking about the world around us but we have peace and laughter every day. We can live generously and help those in need. We can love our community and not care about tomorrow.
Because we trust Him. And we live our lives as He made us; without care, with total trust.
Now is not the time for panic and fighting and whining. It’s time to grow up and let go of yourself.
Kill your idols. Drop the sexual sin and idle temptations. Get hungry for His presence and Word. Leave religion in the past.
It’s time to cry out to Him. Time to do what he has told you to do, and continue doing it until He says to stop or you see it fulfilled. It’s time to stop holding on to what was in your past—both successes and failures—and step into what he has called you to. It’s time to study the Word like your life depends on it.
God is speaking to his prophets for a reason. Don’t miss this moment. Know His Word deeper. And shout from the rooftops what He declares.
Become so reliant on Him, that others are terrified for you.
And when you begin to share your story, they will understand only God could have done it. You will live an impossibility.
Only God can be your source.
It is the end of ourselves. The end of our systems and methods. The end of our cares and dependencies.
I can’t beg it of you enough. I want to grab you by the shoulders and shout it. If you are miserable, scared or angry, you aren’t living what He made you for. There is a great freedom in letting go of what everyone else thinks and what everyone else is doing. And after you pass into that, you’ll actually be able to help them. But it comes in seeking first the kingdom of God, and, by the world’s viewpoint, hating everything else.
In today’s culture, if you have much, you are trained to believe you don’t deserve it. If you have little, you are trained to believe it is someone else’s fault. But when you live the way I describe, you learn that you don’t deserve any of it, yet have much because God is faithful and providing. I’m too inexperienced and foolish to have what we have on my own. Therefore, I neither worry about what will come tomorrow (for if it all disappears today, He will surely provide again), nor do I regret what He has given us. Instead there is freedom from both condemning camps.
The emphasis is: whether you suffer from disillusionment, anger, or fear, you must seek the Lord and actually do what He says. Regardless of whose feelings may get hurt or what future you think you will lose.
Indeed, the majority of our friends and family didn’t want us to do what we were doing. But we didn’t do it for them. We did it for the Lord. And He is faithful.
